Sprouts: A Gentle Writing System: Explicit Instruction + Content Driven Strategies

SPROUTS is a gentle writing program, designed to guide students in the process of writing with purpose. It lays a foundation of strong, varied sentences and progresses to well-organized paragraphs. This program is designed for students approximately ages 7-11. It may be spread across several years when beginning with a younger student or may be completed in a year by an older student. Upon completion of this writing program, students will be ready to write multi-paragraph essays and research papers.PART 1 includes explicit instruction on tools used to make interesting sentences- like strong verbs, descriptive adjectives, phrases, and clauses. Grammar basics are taught in the context of writing.PART 2 includes guided writing strategies that support your child as they write about subjects they are already studying or reading.
